Cutback Bitumen MC70 is a mixture of bitumen and kerosene or other volatile petroleum products. This mixture, known as cutback bitumen, is used to reduce the viscosity of bitumen, making it easier to apply as a seal coat in road pavements. Uses of Cutback Bitumen MC70:
Cutback bitumen MC70 is used for the initial incorporation of asphalt into the surface of non-asphalt-based courses, preparatory to any superimposed treatment of construction. Additionally, cutback asphalt MC-70 is applied to waterproof surfaces, plug capillary voids, and coat and bond loose mineral particles. Cutback agents are used to lower the viscosity of bitumen when it is applied as a primer to the surface of a road pavement aggregate base course or substrate.
Furthermore, we use kerosene as a bitumen cutback agent at different concentrations according to local conditions and requirements. Cutback bitumen is ideal for prime coat and cold applications due to its easy use and no need for thinning and heating.
